Favorite Beauty Products of 2011

I have been slacking off in the blogging world just because work is getting the best of me and I just recently started to attend class again. I wish life would be a lot simpler and I can just blog away. But, that's not the case since we have to work and socialize and give time to family and friends. So now, it seems like blogging would be my last resort when I actually have free time.

I want to talk about the products I have been using in the last year (and still do now) and how much I've been treasuring them. They might be products that I faved in 2010 but that just means that it's a HG product for me.

Shiseido - Ultimate Sun Protection Cream for Face SPF55

One of my all-time favorite sunscreen. I still use it and am already on my second. I like how the texture of the product evens out my skin tone and even whitens it. With an SPF of 55, I believe it's good enough to block the sun rays. It's non-oily and doesn't have that sunscreen scent to it, nor does it leave your face sticky and blotchy. Even though it's winter here in NYC, I use this product all year round.

NYX - Eyeshadow in Taupe

Since I started working at a new place full-time, I needed a go-to routine each morning. I'm not the type that puts on different colors of shadows because I don't want to put the time into it. I've been relying on NYX's taupe e/s because it's a neutral color and I can just sweep it across my eyelid and I'm not. My eyes are darker than the rest of my face so I need to apply a color over it so it doesn't look too "sunken in." Plus, NYX's taupe is a matte color which means it's absolutely appropriate for my work setting.

MAC - Eyebrow Pencil in Taupe

When I first used this, I absolutely fell in love with it. The color was suitable for me and the texture was just perfect. It wasn't too creamy so not a lot of product ended up on my brows but it was creamy enough to have the right amount go on. I'm still on my first pencil and already purchased 2 more. I use this every single day and it defines my brows just the way I want it.

Innisfree - Lavender Moisture Sleeping Mask

A purchase from Sasa.com which I didn't regret. I was skeptical because it's from a foreign country but I was so curious as to how the product would turn out. I found out that there was a form of mask in which you can sleep with and that totally intrigued me. I ended up choosing this because it was from a Korean brand. The product feels like it was make 90% of water because I can see the droplets after applying it on my face. It is so refreshing and keeps my face hydrated throughout the night. Definitely a good investment.

Amazing Cosmetics - Amazing Concealer

I am in love with this concealer. It works so well for dark circles around the eyes. I usually get the To-Go size, it's much smaller but the hole is much small enough so when you dispense the product out it's just the right amount. The last thing I need is to be wasting expensive concealer like this.

There you have it, my faves of 2011. Not much because I didn't have the chance to try out a lot of products and when I do, I usually don't end up liking them. I try to find the more practical products that I tend to use often, which usually includes skincare or face products. Currently, I'm testing out the AmorePacific brand and hopefully that'll work out since my skin has been acting up lately.

Birchbox 012012

I finally cancelled my Birchbox subscription, so this month's is my last month with Birchbox. I'm actually surprise at the products I received because I can actually see myself using these. But I told myself, it was either Birchbox or MyGlam and the latter had proven to be better.

Birchbox 122011 - INFINITE

First off, Happy late late 2012 everyone! I'm definitely feeling good about this year, gonna surely be a great year =D

Now, moving on to December's Birchbox. I know it's been like a month already but December we insanely hectic with the year coming to an end and all the crazy dinners and hangouts.

So, with no further a-do...

The last Birchbox of the year, I was hoping it would throw me off my seats.

Atelier Cologne - Ambre Nue

The scent was really strong. To me, it would suit an elderly person a lot more. I'm in my 20s and it makes me feel old with just smelling this. It's a rich and deep scent of amber which I'm not too fond of.

Benefit Cosmetics - The POREfessional

I have yet to try this out but I'm really looking forward to it. I never tried any primer before and I have ginormous pores so I'm hoping this will end up being a good product.

Jouer - Moisturizing Lip Gloss in Birchbox Pink

I like cute and small this gloss is, I also like the name that was given for the color. Lastly, I really do like the color. Just one application of this gloss gives you a tinted pink rosy color on the lips, plus if you want it deeper you can always reapply it in layers.

Olie Biologique - 004 Huile Moderne

I wasn't so impress with this product because I really don't need any oils on my body... any where on my body at all. I have an oily face and my hair gets oily throughout the day, and I don't feel 100% comfortable applying oils to my body unless it's more spa/massage purposes. So, I felt this sample was a total waste for me.

ShowStoppers - Designer Fashion Tape

Definitely thought this was a odd product to include to the pack but I'm sure it would come in handy in the future.

EBOOST - Orange Natural Energy Booster

Personally, I don't believe in energy boosters. This little packet is still sitting on my table, quite hesitant to try. Maybe I'll give it to my boyfriend and see what he feels of it... haha

Overall, I was disappointed once again with Birchbox. I think I'll most likely cancel my subscription to Birchbox because they fail to deliver items that would be useful to/for me. I'll give it one last month and that will help me confirm my thoughts on Birchbox.

Now, onto something totally off topic. I've been going a bit crazy for this Korean male group, they are definitely younger than me but hey... they have good music and there's this one guy in there that's just really good looking. Sorry boyfriend! - I still love you <3

The group, that just recently debuted in 2010 and got on the top list of the Korean charts - INFINITE.

A 7-member male group. They remind me a lot of Shinhwa, the group I once loved so much but they stop promoting songs and coming out with new albums because they're getting older.

Yup, it's the one with the weird one letter name - L.

Real name is Kim Myungsoo. He is just way too charming. Plus, I'm sure he knows that he's handsome and good-looking. His members always tell him so and the constant screaming and love from his fans gives him that total confidence. Plus, he's the visual of the group - meaning he's the "face" of the group. Definitely a wise choice.

I usually never splurge on flats, or even spend more than $50 for a pair. I've been looking for a leopard print flats for over a year already and when I was able to find one, the prints would look uber cheap or weird.

I'm glad I was finally able to find a pair... at Payless. The pair was less than $20 which was a total steal. Love it when I'm able to find such bargains!

MyGlam 122011

I recently subscribed to MyGlam. It's very similar to Birchbox but is put together by stylists on YouTube. I was curious and since I was so disappointed with Birchbox last month, I wanted to give MyGlam a shot.

Let me say, I'm so glad I pursued it because I love the items that MyGlam provided!

If I'm not mistaken, MyGlam gives a new makeup bag each month. Although, I might be wrong but if it's true then that's a great incentive for subscribing to the website.

This item was was definitely fun to play with. Each sheet, thin just like a blotting sheet, act as a blush. Extremely convenient when you need to touch up on the go.

A decent size NYX Matte Lip Cream, I am in love! I adore NYX's product because it's inexpensive, has a wide range of colors and their products actually works well. I was excited to see this since I never tried their matte lip cream before and I really like it.

I only wear waterproof mascara so this was a no-no for me.

Another UDPP *runs around clapping* I'm still currently using the UDPP that came with the NAKED palette so I'm extremely happy that I won't need to purchase a primer anytime soon.

Urban Decay shadow in Sin. A really nice shimmery taupe-y peach color perfect for highlighting the brow-bone.

Blotting sheets, my holy grail item. They smell so good also, just like lavender.

So far, I am extremely satisfied with the items in MyGlam. The package just cost $10 a month with no shipping and handling fee. I have a subscription to Birchbox also and this is by far much better than Birchbox. Can't wait for next months!

For lunch today, my boyfriend and I walked by Shake Shack in Madison Square Park and there was absolutely no lines. This is so rare because there's always a long line at this Shake Shack. I've had their burgers before but never fresh. The boyfriend usually delivers so I was definitely excited to try it fresh from the shop!

Montreal - Last Day

The end has come but it's not the last of it

Felt so surreal when we woke up on our last day in Montreal. And to think we only arrive to Montreal just 5 days ago, time sure does go by quick when you're having fun. Before our trip, I told J that the last day will be the day where we decide which place we want to head back to have their food again. I bet you all thought it would be Frite Alors... but you'll see.

J went down to get us our last hotel breakfast. It was nice, breakfast in bed. I'm going to miss this kind of treatment from the boyfriend.

I really liked their waffles and J likes the toast. Simple breakfast, something to keep our tummy happy before heading to our final stop.

Our room cards. I didn't realize there was a map on the card all along. Boy, wouldn't that make it easier for us to find the hotel when we were walking like crazy the first two days.

The amount of metro-cards we bought. If we were well prepared then we would've only gotten the 3-day pass with a 1 day rather than pay for all the single rides. We learned out lesson, must do research and be extra prepared next time wherever we go!

After the quick breakfast, we packed everything we need and checked out of the hotel a little before 12pm.

Took the metro to our favorite restaurant in Montreal, Papillon.

It's official, we love this place. Whether it's the fabulous escargot they make or the great service, we love it. The restaurant wasn't pack, as a matter of fact we were the only customers for lunch. You might think that's crazy but that's how Montreal roll. A lot of restaurants barely have people in there and it became the norm for us.

Instead of coffee, we both had Earl Grey tea. J made milk tea with his but I like mine plain.

Greek Salad. I tried avoiding the olives like crazy. Overall, a good salad.

We both forgot what this soup was, but it tasted soooo good. This is why I hate it when J always picks the better dishes. UGHHHH... I want to kick him.

I had the salmon which was cooked perfectly. The vegetables were quite amazing also, I usually don't like the accompany vegetables because they taste bland, like they just boiled it. But for Papillon, they actually sauteed it and gave it some flavor. Man, I love the French!

J's braised rabbit. He loved it. I liked it also but that maple sauce was a tad bit weird for me. And why did he have more mushrooms than meee???

We also ordered the escargot, but since I already had so many pictures of that I didn't bother retaking it. Our last meal in Montreal was lovely. We had window seats and the restaurant was quiet enough for us to enjoy our food and chit chat before we had to head to the airport.

Montreal is beautiful in its own aspects. I'm glad I got the chance to really explore what Montreal had to offer again with the boyfriend. I definitely seeing myself coming back, either for the escargot or the poutine.

When we were done with our meal, we lugged our baggage to the train station and took the metro to the airport. It's so much easier and simpler than NYC. There was a bus that ran directly to the airport, so we caught that bus and held hands thinking about the great times we had in Montreal.

We're back at JFK waiting to head home.

This trip was definitely one of those test. It's a lot different than our trip to Cancun where everything was handed to us and we didn't have to go anywhere for anything before it was just so convenient. In Montreal, we had to travel around in the city hoping that our directional skills will take us to our destine places. J and I did argue during this trip, it's totally normal even though I wished we didn't. After this trip, I'm sure we can tackle any other trips since we already had a language barrier here which was French. I'm looking forward to our future trips which I'm sure would be a lot more challenging and fun.

Montreal - Day 4

Appreciating the simple things in life

Our last full day in Montreal. J and I definitely got that sad achy feeling since we didn't want the trip to end, but everything has to come to end.

Our balcony view. It's nice waking up knowing we had a balcony which we didn't use since it was mighty chilly out. Not the best balcony view but it comes in handy when you rent or have a car parked in the lot.

I wanted to go to Jean-Talon Market. Ever since watching Bizarre Food and No Reservations, I always wanted to visit the market of each place/city I go to just to have a little taste of actually being a local. J suggested we go on a Monday since a lot of the restaurants and museums are closed on Monday. The market was pretty big. We were so indecisive about lunch that we practically made 3 entire loops of the inside and outside of the market.

Pretty empty huh? Can't expect much since it was around noon on a Monday. We finally settled down and ordered some food.

Salami sandwich. Simple yet tasty. It's all about quality, not quantity. I liked how the person behind the counter that took our order told us to sit down and that he'll bring us the food. Sort of not use to that kind of behavior.

J got a meat pie and some wings. The meat pie was pretty good but we both wished that it came with a little gravy cause it was getting a bit dry as we continue eating. But one thing, the meat pie was flavored quite well. The wings looked mouthwatering, but it was a bit dry.

Our half full apple juice that tasted extremely fresh. Looks dark and heavy but the flavor was just pure apple and that was truly fresh, I could drink this all day long. While in Montreal, Naya was our go-to water bottle that kept us hydrated.

Stopped by a pastry shop and bought 2 little things plus this tiramisu ice cream. It was good, nice and creamy with tiramisu flavor. Now if only all ice cream came like that.

The market was really colorful. There were so many fresh fruits and vegetables. There were some stalls that had samples for you to try before deciding if you want to buy anything. I ended up getting some blueberries because they were fresh and I didn't even spot one bad one in the bunch, plus I love blueberries. J bought some cherry tomatoes, they were so plump!

After the market we decided to head back to the hotel but before going back there, we wanted to stop by the supermarket to get some steak for dinner. Since we had a full kitchen in our hotel room, we wanted to use it before out trip ended. Back at the hotel, we were just enjoying our evening with watching TV and being lazy.

I nearly forgot about this...

Tim Hortons! How can our trip be fulfilled if we didn't get any Tim Hortons?! The best part was they had the French Vanilla Cappuccino for only $1 and because I saw munchkins somewhere (I don't remember where) I had J get me some also. Boy, I was feeling so spoiled since he went out and I stayed in the hotel. He came back and told me everything cost around $3ish. I was like - really? Are you sure? Dammm

Great deal! He got 10 little donuts which Montreal-ers call Timbits. How adorable! They're frankly quite good. I would choose these over Dunkin' Donuts any time because they weren't overly sweet. Plus, the chocolate one was amazing. Oh, and they had a strawberry one! I wonder if the Tim Hortons in the states would taste the same as Montreal.

So content with our snack.

Finally, dinner time. J was the chef tonight. I was just too lazy and he seems confident enough to cook up some foie gras and steak.

It looked like a big piece when it was raw but once cooked, the foie decrease in size magnificently. I have no problem with it since I'm not a crazy foie gras person. I gave most of it to J since he loves this stuff.

Steak for two and only $4.84.

The boyfriend at work! Looking quite pro there. Food always taste better when the person you love cooks it.

Our feast for our last night in Montreal. I wouldn't have spent it any other way. I had the best dinner ever and nothing would have been better than this. A meal that was cooked by J, everything we picked up together. It just seemed perfect.

It was hard to believe that we would be leaving the next day. Everything happened so fast. We tried to cherish our last hours of the night together. Nothing better to end the night with than Ice Cider, something new.

Montreal - Day 3

Feeling like kids in a candy shop

Sunday was a dreary day so J and I wanted to spend some of time indoors. We plan on going to a museum/zoo/aquarium thing, it's an all-in-one spot. But before going out, we need to check out the continental breakfast that our hotel offered.

A sufficient breakfast. They had a lot of carbs and starch-ie food, no meat at all. The orange juice was pretty good, coffee wasn't so great. I really liked the waffles, actually it's the maple syrup that I really like. It's not extremely sweet and tasted just perfect, slab on a little whipped butter and that's a perfect waffle for you.

After breakfast we chilled a bit in our room until we felt like getting our asses up to head out. We thought we probably should get something to eat before heading to our destination. Of course, we went to Frite Alors and got some poutine. Can you see how much we love Frite Alors? J was eye-ing the pulled pork since day one so that's exactly what we got. The pork was a bit on the sweet side so it actually tasted better without the meat.

The train ride wasn't long, within half an hour and we were at the Biodome. Pretty excited.

How do you like them apples? We got a student discount with our NYC student IDs. Totally surprised that they even accepted it.

Biodome incorporates 4 different physical atmosphere to educate the public of the animals that lives in them. The killer was the forest, it was so humid and hot. Truthfully, I gave after a couple of shots because there were way too many people and I could hardly take any photos.

A birdie roaming around. J was telling me how they pop out of nowhere and if he wasn't paying attention he would've kicked one when he walked.

And that's all I captured there. These things are so high up in the trees which makes it so difficult to capture them, not to mention they move also -_-"

The Biodome wasn't bad, nor was it that amazing. I guess we both expected a lot more but when we looked at the price again, it seemed about just right. Right across the street from the Biodome was a movie theater. It was ginormous. Rather than go see a movie, since most likely they're all in French we just zoomed right into the arcade section.

We found the air hockey table! I don't know why, but I love air hockey and I'm sure J took an interest in it also. The scoring was weird, I mean c'mon 37? In the states, we only go up to 7 points. The price was insanely cheap, a $1 a game. I thought I was hallucinating.

It was extremely tempting...

After killing some time here, we finally decided to head back to the hotel and rest. Since our dinner reservation wasn't until 9pm. It was either 5:30 or 9, I'm not rushing to the restaurant at 5, that's just way too early for dinner. As we got back into the city of Montreal, we found the shopping area near our hotel. But guess what we bought... more liquor! Gosh we are insanely alcoholics on this trip.

Remember these photos? I took them on day one in daylight and I told J that wouldn't it look great during the night. He dragged me here after we got some liquor which was heavy! But the sight of it was worth it.

We lugged our heavy bags back to the hotel. During the stay in Montreal, I have to say we watched a lot of Discovery Channel. Never knew they had such interesting shows and educational also. Finally, it was 8ish and we left the building for our anticipated dinner.

We were finally there. The hype about this place was over the roof. It's nice to be able to experience it.

We started off with a sample platter. There was tongue, sausage, terrine, and pate. I loved the pate, totally different from the usual pate I usually eat. This had flavor and texture, not mushy at all. My least favorite was the terrine, that black blob. It wasn't the texture issue, it was more of the intense flavor that filled my mouth and nostril that made me want to gag. I'll remember to avoid that. And did anyone hear of pickled egg before? I mean, pickled like a pickle... so good!

This dish was certainly an eye opener. Little balls of liquid foie gras in the center. Crunchy on the outside and once bitten, the warm gooeyness of the foie just melts in your mouth. Genius! But I'm not changing my mind about foie gras.

So, J was really disappointed that they were out of pig's head. We initially wanted to indulge in the pig's head since it's a two-person meal. The waiter said they were sold out, and boy did J expressed a big reaction. Seeing him so upset, the waiter said he'll whip up something that off the menu. That deep dish consisted of tongue, quail, duck, ribs, pork belly, foie gras, and bone marrow. When I saw it, I was going to die. We somehow finished the entire thing, ok more credit to J since he's a beast.

The meal was satisfying. We're definitely going back to Au Pied de Cochon to get the pig's head even if that means we have to reserve it.

Heading back to the hotel we were stuffed and quite content. Looking in the fridge made us more content.

Montreal - Day 2

Walk til we wobble

We woke up around 9-ish and slowly got ready for our day. The great thing about planning your own trip and not following no tour guided itinerary is the ability to sleep in as long as you want without the need to use the alarm clock. Which is why traveling on our own has been extremely convenient, plus it makes us happy.

J and I got our plans sorted together.

First stop for breakfast, Frite Alors... again! We wanted something to munch on before we get our "real" breakfast. Mind you, it was already like noon when we came here.

We got the amazing classic poutine. J and I fell in love with this immediately. I mean, I was always a bit skeptical about this since it has cheese in it and I'm not a big fan of cheese unless it's cooked/melted and then there's the gravy which I'm afraid would be way too saucy, heavy, and thick. Boy, did Frite Alors proved me wrong. Everything about it was just perfect. Cheese curds were chewy with a little squeak to it, the gravy was not salty nor heavy, the fries were just fried perfectly so the gravy wouldn't soak into it to make it mushy.

Definitely the most perfect breakfast. If they had a Frite Alors here in NYC, I would probably go every week... or even every day if I can without busting my belt.

With this is our tummy, walking was a lot easier. Although it doesn't mean our next destination wasn't far. J kept telling me we should've gotten a pedometer to see how much we walked, I totally agreed.

These old monasteries/churches were everywhere. This is exactly what gives Montreal that French vibe.

I'm glad we decided to walk cause it gives us the chance to see stores that are located in the area, not to mention these weird buildings. It's also a bit odd not seeing so many people out in the streets. I guess it's a good thing since you know how busy the streets are in NYC.

Road side building art, anyone? The face on the far back right side is so darn creepy, this was as close as I'm willing to get to take the photo. Yea, call me a wuss =P

Breakfast part one is served! I've had New York bagels before and was curious as how does Montreal bagels differ. Fairmount being one of the well known shops in Montreal that sells probably the best bagel there is.

Supposedly open 24/7 and they always make new fresh batches of bagels. They're best known for the sesame bagel and that's exactly what I got. Btw, the employees are mighty fast.

Sesame bagel with cream cheese. I couldn't get any simpler than this. J was like just regular cream cheese? Yes, just regular cream cheese, thank you. One bite into this bagel and I can tell why Fairmount sells the best bagels. Surely, it's nothing like a New York bagel. Montreal's bagel is a lot crustier with a soft but not dough-ie interior. There's actually a hole in the middle of the bagel and the sesame that covers the bagel makes it fragrant enough to just inhale it all. What amazed me the most was the cream cheese. Extremely light (no I didn't order low fat), felt like it was whipped. I wished I bought a whole jar of it!

J opted for a garlic bagel with cream cheese and lox. Fresh salmon but I'm not a big fan of garlic bagels so I passed. But still, look at the color of that salmon!

Just a couple of blocks down was our breakfast part 2. Another bagel joint that I've heard has been going head to head with Fairmount. I just have to try it out since I'm already here in Montreal.

St. Viateur it was. This shop was a tad bit roomier than Fairmount but quality of the bagel is what matters.

Look at those bagels! Makes me think how do they sell out of it so quickly when they make batches like that.

I'm nit-pickie so St. Viateur already lost some points here. They use Philadephia cream cheese and they didn't cut the bagel for us and spread it. But, to talk about the bagel, this bagel was a lot softer. There really wasn't any crust to it but it did taste a bit sweet. So, the verdict was... J and I both agreed that Fairmount had taken the crown for the best Montreal bagel.

As we were walking down the street finishing the last bite of our bagels, we saw this. A mobile vacuum cleaner! How cute! The guy in the mini car was so meticulous with his job, trying to suck every little garbage there is to offer in the empty streets/road.

The next thing on our agenda list was Old Montreal. J wanted to take a look around there, I just shrugged and follow since I don't know what Old Montreal holds. To get there, we took Monteal's Metro for the first time. Not entirely lost since J had his iPad and his sense of direction was always better than mines, we got to Old Montreal in no time.

Montreal's metro are insanely clean and their platform isn't as packed as it is in NYC. If you've been to NYC, you'll know what I mean.

Wouldn't be complete without a photo in a train station. I still can't get over the fact of how clean it is there. J told me Montreal trains runs on rubber tires... coooool.

I loved how simple the structure of their metro system is. They have only 4 main train lines and they're coded with colors instead of letters of numbers.

The slope down to Old Montreal. This place was starting to get familiar as I walked down and then I suddenly remembered that it was the same place we went to the first time we step foot into Quebec.

We did some tourist shopping in the gift shops. Got myself some Ice Wine Tea, I love Ice Wine so when I saw it in the form of tea I knew I had to get it and let my parents try it. We were also looking for a restaurant that has escargot. J and I both looked at every menu there was on the strip of Old Montreal - good thing about restaurants in Old Montreal, they put their menu outside so anyone can take a look at what they have to offer before stepping foot in. We ended up heading back to where we started because that was the only place that sold it.

Papillon. The place where we gorge into escargot ecstasy. For those of you who don't know what escargot is, it's just a fancy name for snails.

Mussels. J loves mussels so we ordered it.

Escargot... with cheese. Lord, this just taste amazing. And I didn't have to de-shell it, I'm getting spoiled here!

In that case then let's order more! There's only 6 in each order and they're tiny. There's a lot of butter that was used so it's actually great to eat it with some bread and soak up all the juicy goodness.

After this small meal (yup, we considered it small) we trekked down to Au Pied de Cochon. We plan to drown ourselves in fatty meaty goodness and just fall into a food coma afterwards. After traveling all the way down there, we found that they were full for the night so we had to make reservations for the next evening. Darnit, I knew we should've made reservations but that's ok, good thing we're not leaving the next day or I'll be pissed. So, from Au Pied de Cochon we decided to see if we can find another restaurant that J found that morning in the hotel which had bone marrow and truffles. To our disappointment again, the place was closed down. Jeez, what luck! While walking and feeling a bit grim, we saw a liquor store and bought a couple of bottles.

Feeling the pain in our legs from walking, we had to suck it up and walk home. Since the train was far from where we were anyways. Eventually we sought to take a little break and eat at a local diner and just catch our breathe.

It was the colorful decoration of the exterior that lured us into this place, actually it appealed to J more than I did. I actually just wanted to head back to the hotel and crash but I knew we both had to eat something. All that walking literally burn off everything we ate.

Yes, more poutine! J got his with meat this time, I just stuck with the classic since I wasn't feeling oh so hungry anyways. The poutine here was a lot different. The gravy was extremely salty, to a point where I just couldn't finish it. After this quick bite, we decided to stop by Schwartz's for some smoked meat since it was along the way.

I felt so relieve when we step through the doors of our hotel. Never felt so good to sit down.

Montreal - Day 1

I forgot how beautiful Montreal can be at times. This is my second trip back to Canada, specifically Montreal, Quebec with my boyfriend. We know we wanted to revisit since the last time we went. This time around, we made a list of things we must do and see.

Let the fun begin

We woke up pretty early and got driven to the airport quite early also. This actually seems like deja vu since we had the same experience with Cancun last year. Going through airport security went smoothly and we were on the plane in no time. The airplane this time was a lot smaller since it was just an one hour flight, plus my carry-on got to go on a valet ride.

When we go to Montreal, the airport was literally empty. Going through customs was a piece of cake also. We thought something was wrong since there was barely no one, I thought it would be crowded from past experiences. So much for thinking that people would travel on the holidays. We went looking for a cab to take us to the hotel. The ride cost a flat rate of $39.

The hotel was amazing. We chose it because it had a built in mini kitchen which was so convenient. The room was clean and tidy. They provided free wifi and complimentary continental breakfast. Sometimes, I have to give it to my boyfriend for finding such great places. So, after dropping off our baggage we headed straight back out to get some food. I was excited since I thought we would get poutine, poutine being Quebec's staple comfort food. It consist of fries, cheese curds and gravy. Just as simple as that.

Our first stop was Frite Alors. I don't remember how I landed on this place but it was definitely the burgers that caught my eyes. I mean, c'mon caribou burger... rudolph burger as I quote from J. We started with beer, I'm not a huge beer drinker but hey... Montreal's beer isn't so bad.

Caribou Burger. This burger was insanely good. First bite of Montreal and it totally wowed me. The melted cheese with pickles and caramelized onions, it's a great combo. The meat was tender and soft, surprisingly good caribou meat. I was sold.

We also ordered pork links with garlic and white wine. This dish made me feel extremely healthy. It certainly doesn't look healthy but the taste of it was truly healthy. Their sausage wasn't as heavy and fatty as ours in the states are. The pork sausage was light with a hint of flavor, to J and me, it lacked a bit of spices. One thing we both agreed on was their fries. They are definitely heavenly, by far the best fries we ever had... EVER. I was sure we were at least half an hour into our meal and the fries remained light and crispy. The darker ones, where some people calls it the burnt fries, were solid with a hint of smokiness to it. Frite Alors has definitely master the fries department. Screw McDonalds and Burger King, Frite Alors FTW.

After such a satisfying meal, J took me to see the underground city. I admit, we were lost and didn't know how to get there but somehow our little feet lead the way. The underground city had everything you need. Unlimited shopping areas and even a food court so you don't even have to go above ground. The best part is if it's too cold outside, you can literally just camp out here since the metro is connected also.

J and I decided that we should hit up Chinatown in Montreal. We reminisce the Dragon Beard Candy so we were determine to get there.

Montreal is actually quite pretty if you capture the right moments. The day was dreary and cloudy and not much sun at all. J and I captured the moving clouds as it slowly gobbles up the sun that was there for a split second.

I was intrigued by the colors that this building incorporated. And the next thing we knew, we were in Chinatown.

One of the gates that harbors Chinatown. The last time I was here, I thought there were more to Chinatown so wanted to explore more this time around. But Montreal's Chinatown is extremely small, their streets shaped like the letter T and had very few stores. We walked through the entire Chinatown in less than an hour, or was that half an hour?

One of the main reason we visited Montreal again. We were hoping the old guy was there since he was the one that made fresh candy for us last time.

It was fresh, nor was it the old guy that served us. The taste was a bit off this time, it wasn't fluffy or soft. To say the truth, we were disappointed this time. We only ate two and just took the rest back to our hotel.

We also happened to stop by a bakery. I was in the mood for some bubble tea but the place just failed to please me so I didn't even bother taking a picture of it. If you're thinking, was it that bad - yes it was! J saw these egg custard tart and it looked awfully tasty and fresh. Two for $1 isn't a bad deal, then again it was when you factor in the tax they added. Not only that, but the egg custard tart was bland. First off, it's suppose to be sweet! I'm thinking how Montrealers are eating such bland food. Maybe that's why they aren't obese like Americans.

After a quick walk around Chinatown, we decided to head back to the hotel. Yet again, we walked back and it wasn't a crazy long walk but the slopes of the road were insane. Like, literally steep and inclined... we were huffing and puffing when we finally reached the "top." So relieved to be back at the hotel and just crash into the comfortable soft sofa chairs.

After hours of deliberation, we knew what we were having for dinner.

Schwartz's. If you ever been to Katz's Deli in NYC then that is what Schwartz's is in Montreal. The rave about this place is over the top. Everyone that ever been here has said nothing but great things about them. They usually have lines out the door and you couldn't even get a table within an hour. J and I already had the feeling that we'll most likely have to wait but we were crazy hungry so it was a great night to be waiting on line for a quick bite. Lucky us, we only waited 10 minutes and a table was ready for us.

Nothing better than a coke with a sandwich. Although the coke is J's, I had a sprite. I don't know why I always opt for Sprite rather than coke, maybe cause it's sweeter?

Schwartz's has three different type of cuts for you to choose from - fatty, medium, or lean. I'm definitely staying away from the lean since that means no fat and just dry pieces of smoked meat. I chose the medium, which I thought was fair since I was afraid that fatty would clog my arteries and make me pass out. This sandwich was superb and the mustard just worked with every bite. For less than $10 a sandwich, I would go here every week if I can. The price was a lot more reasonable than Katz's and the service was friendly. We had a quick chat with the waiter for a couple of minutes if ya know what I mean.

J's fatty sandwich. I'm totally not surprised that he chose this. I know my boyfriend and he loves his fatty meat. And of course, he always seems to choose the best. I was talking to J about how the fatty, medium and lean part works. Medium cuts are literally just combinations of fatty and lean. As I was talking to J about this, one of the waiters came by and asked if I was displeased with my sandwich. He saw me talking seriously and with hand motions in the air, so I told him I was actually very pleased with their sandwich. It's delicious and I have nothing against it, I was just "discussing" the different cuts of the meat with my boyfriend. I could've sworn I heard a sigh of relief from him.

As we left Schwartz's, the line got insanely long. I consider us lucky cause if we stalled a bit longer at the hotel then we would've been on that long line.

Day 1, not bad at all. Got a couple of things done on our list. Back at our hotel, we checked out our balcony. If it wasn't that cold in Montreal, I would say that the balcony is a great addition to the room but in our case, we'll just have to lock the door and pull the curtains. Day 2 of our adventure coming soon.

Anastasia Beverly Hills - HydraFull Gloss

A tiny tube of tip gloss. I really like the color, I like the consistency but I'm not "wowed" by the entire product. Plus, the applicator was a plastic paddle. Ultra weird. Definitely not an impressive product or packaging.

Harvey Prince - Eau Flirt

I like the scent, like a lot. Literally reminds me of the winter holidays. What bothers me about this is the packaging of the sample perfume. Why can't it be in a spritzer tube?

Supersmile - Professional Whitening Toothpaste

Toothpaste? I was surprise to see this in the box. I tried it once and I'm never touching it again. I usually expect toothpaste to foam when I brush, it definitely doesn't happen with Supersmile. And it has a mandarin mint taste, sorry but I like my toothpaste in plain mint.

Zoya - Nail Polish in Holly

Cute tiny bottle but I wish they weren't cheap and just gave the regular size bottle (I know, I'm expecting a lot from $10). I like the color, definitely holiday appropriate.

Chuao Chocolatier - Firecracker Chocopod

Last but not least, chocolate. Tasted a bit funky. Chipotle, salt, and popping candy in dark chocolate... definitely didn't arouse my senses.

Extremely disappointed. I'm going to give it another month or two and see what Birchbox has to offer but if it fails to amaze me then I'll be cancelling my subscription. I mean, I like the idea of being surprised but... this is getting my hopes really up and then shattered. Then again, I might have too high of an expectation.

I'm actually excited to see what December holds since it's the holiday/Christmas-y month =]

Ann Taylor Perfect Pump

I recently made a purchase on Ann Taylor. I saw on Extra Petite's website that Ann Taylor was having a 40% off sale plus there was a stackable 30% code.

Extremely tempting so I gave in and gotten 2 pairs of pumps.

The Perfect Patent Pump and the Perfect Exotic Pump.

I ended up returning the Perfect Patent Pump because it just doesn't fit. I originally bought a size 7 but it was too loose. I exchanged both for a 6.5 but the Perfect Exotic Pump actually fits but the Perfect Patent Pump doesn't. So, now I only own the Exotic Pump in Pumice Stone size 6.5.

I love these pumps. Perfect height and perfect color. It's amazingly comfortable also which I find quite rare with pumps. The price for these were $178 but I got them for less than half the price. What a steal!

Meatless

I've been going meatless for 3 days straight for the past 2 weeks. Sure it was hard but I'm getting use to it now. It's good to go meatless and just have some light dishes like tofu and vegetables.

Redken - shine flash 02

A hairspray that gives a shine. I really want to like this product but for some reason it makes my hair look greasy... odd. But I love the scent, makes me smell good.

Pangea Organics - Facial Scrub

I thought it was a mistake when I saw this. I had the same looking thing last month, but it was a facial cream, this is a scrub. So much better than the cream. The scent is pretty pleasant and it leaves my face so soft after usage. Win.

blinc - Mascara

An interesting mascara indeed but I'll pass on this since it's not waterproof. Also, the instructions for applying is insanely complicated. After the first coat, you have to wait 2 minutes for the lashes to dry and then you can apply more coats. I don't have time to wait! Plus, to remove the mascara it says to use warm water and add pressure to your eyes and tubes of the mascara will come off. Does this sound familiar? Like those Japanese mascaras?

Befine - Lip Exfoliator

Heavy oatmeal scent. I usually don't believe in lip exfoliators because it just doesn't work on me. No matter how often I use it and how hard I scrub, my lips cannot be baby soft. Unless there's a miracle product out there for me...

Tea Forte - Minteas

Freebie of the month. I love this! Taste so good, with a hint of cinnamon. Plus there was a lot of mints inside the little tin can. Win.

HG For My Face

The weather has been changing here in NYC and it's feeling more like Autumn. I like the feeling of the weather but I don't like how it's not entirely hot nor cold, makes it difficult to choose clothes to wear. I mean, I like layering but it sort of makes a person looks "chunky". But anyways, my face has been acting up ever since the weather changed.

My skin is combination-oily and the t-zones are the most oiliest parts ever. Under the light, you can see a shiny layer of grease (I know it sounds nasty but I can't help it). My pores are quite big hence the excessive amount of oily it releases. I haven't tried much facial products that would decrease the secretion of oil because I feel like my face needs it. Oil secretion allows the face to be hydrated and not dry. Dry skin leads to wrinkles therefore I don't take any supplements or put on any moisturizer to stop it.

But lately, it got way out of hand and it even had me using multiple sheets of blotting paper, I even have to use it 2-3 times a day. That's a bit scary.

In the beginning of the year, I started using the moisturizer from Avon that my boyfriend's mom gave me. I liked it because it was light and had an SPF of 20 in it. I also like how it can become a base for my concealers to glide on. I've been using it in the summer also and it was fine. I had to blot my face only once throughout the day which was absolutely normal. Then once September hits, I started getting even more oilier. I started to freak. I went researching for primers which I heard can really help with oily skin. I was about to go purchase a primer but I suddenly remembered something.

Laying on my table was the Shiseido sunscreen that I used to love. I stopped using it because I had received the Avon moisturizer. It was just sitting there on the table, so I decided one day to use the Shiseido and put the Avon aside.

The Shisedio sunscreen was a lifesaver. I have raved it before as one of my favorite products of the year and it never failed me. The sunscreen that I have has an SPF of 55. Insane, but it helps protect my skin. Ever since I started using the Shiseido sunscreen again I have been getting less oily.

So, the Shiseido sunscreen is officially my HG product for the face. It's a must have. It's not as runny as any other sunscreen products and it has a nice pleasant scent to it also.

Best Innovator Of All Times

Steven Paul Jobs has passed away today, Wednesday October 5th, 2011.

Known as Steve Jobs, he was the CEO of Apple from 1997 until 2011. One of the best innovators out there that I think should be remembered. He had touched so many lives with his invention and ideas.

I feel like he deserves an entry. He impacted on a lot of people, one of them being myself. I grew up with his inventions of the iPod, which what made Apple hit it big. Now, I own an iPod, iPod Touch, iPhone, and a Macbook. Jobs has literally changed our lives in the technology world and he wouldn't stop until all his consumers are content. Yesterday was the Apple Conference, where the new CEO, Tim Cook, which Jobs had appointed took the stage and introduce the new Apple iPhone that everyone was waiting for. No one knew that Jobs would pass away the day after the conference. Did Jobs hold on for that extra day to see how his successor would do? It was all a coincidence, or was it?

I respect Jobs and he's the first person (celebrity-wise/extremely well known) that died which I had shed a tear for. A tear worth shedding.

Wherever he is now, I hope he knows that he's done his job. He made a huge change and certainly impacted everyone's lives. Ask yourself, how many people own an Apple product and you'll know how much Steve Jobs had done.

September Haul: Loft

As you all may know, I've found myself a full time gig at a CPA firm. Which gives me a reason to shop and look for work appropriate clothes that are comfortable and affordable.

Birchbox 92011

After reading about Birchbox, I've finally gave in and started the subscription. I've always loved seeing and reading what's in the monthly Birchboxes from Mara but just as I start this month, she had decided to cancel her subscription. What a weird coincidence!

This month was quite disappointing since the items weren't that great, it didn't give it that "wow" factor but nonetheless I did enjoy a few things.

I really like the packaging of Birchbox, sometime that's all that matter to pull a sucker like me in.

Adventurous Incoco - Nail Polish Applique

I probably would've enjoyed this more if it was in a different color. Ever since I started working for a CPA firm, it's hard to wear bright colors. Especially when it's glittery bright like this one. I'm thinking of using it on my toes but that would be a waste since Autumn is here and I want my toes to be warm.

I'm intrigued by the application process more than anything. I like the idea of removing the tape and just sticking it on my fingernails and filing until it fits my nail. I'll most likely paint a top coat over it just in case it chips easily.

Balanced Pangea Organics - Facial Cream for Normal to Combo Skin

I thought the small bottle packaging was cute until I opened it and got a big whiff of the scent. It's a strong ginger scent which is definitely not one bit appealing. I try to apply this at night since the scent is so not sexy for outdoor sake. The consistency is a bit runny for a facial cream.

Polished Jouer - Lip Enhancer

The product is insanely tiny. The lip enhancer itself is pink, which is always a good thing. It says to hydrate, plump, and condition your lips. The first time I applied it, it gave me a bit of a tingly sensation on the lips but that was it. Like any lip products, you need to consistently apply it so your lips won't get dry. For this product, when it is on your lips it feels ultra hydrating and nourishing to the lips but when after a few hours when the product is faded, your lips are back to square one.

Eco-Minded LIV GRN - Earth Eau de Parfum

I was skeptical about this perfume because the first time I smelled it, it had reminded me of honey dew. Yea, a really strong honey dew fruity kind of smell. I gave it a shot the next day and pat some on my neck and wrist. The after-smell (a lot of perfumes are like this, they smell uber different after it is exposed to air), was a lot better. It wasn't a fruity smell anymore but a true earthy kind of scent that is light and pleasant to the nose. I've been using it to touch up at work every now and then since the tiny bottle is so convenient.

Birchbox Friendship Bracelet

Let's be practical here.
It was Birchbox's one year anniversary so they decided to include a bracelet in there as a thank you to all the subscribers. But, who will actually wear it? I've already decided to give it to my little cousin. I was hoping that Birchbox was going to give something that's more wearable for their subscribers since they know our age-range. I thought this was a poorly executed "treat."

I actually like how Birchbox works and am excited to see what next months holds for me. I guess it's the anticipation and excitement about what I might get that had me subscribed. Plus it's not a bad thing since I get to try products that I most likely will not be exposed to in real-life.

Quick Update

Ever since Hurricane Irene hit the East Coast everything has changed. Although when it reached NYC it was just a Tropical Storm. My family did take precaution and we moved to another area since our zone was the most dangerous. When we decided to head back home, fortunately our house had no damage. I was very grateful for that.

Remember my last post stating that I was going for a job interview and to also see a job agent. Well, the job which I had the interview said they would get back to me on Tuesday but they never did. Feeling totally lucked out I decided to email them to make sure they found another person and just didn't leave me hanging. Sometimes you just have to take initiative and not be afraid. I emailed them on Wednesday morning and by Wednesday afternoon they called me. They were going to offer me the job! I was extremely excited and so glad things are falling into place. I need this job since it will provide me with the benefits and who doesn't like to make more money?

So, besides my regular 5 days a week working at the firm. I also have class on Saturday and another job on Sunday. I don't know how I'll be able to manage it but I'm going to try my best. I definitely won't be able to sleep in at all so the only option is to actually sleep early.

As for updates on this blog, I'll try to periodically if I can. I know I'll be too tired to snap photos and then upload them and then watermark them and then post them. The process is actually quite difficult. But I'll try to make the effort.

Labor Day weekend is here, the only time I'll get to rest before putting myself into full speed work-mode. How are you all spending your holiday weekend?

It's been a good 2 months since I did any dramatic makeup looks. I usually don't wear much but I've been back into my eyeliner and mascara phase.

Clawing the bottle is probably the only way I can show you the thumb. My first Zoya nail polish ever and I really like the consistency. Really creamy and glides on the nail really well. I can just keep it at one coat but 2 coats will always be safer.

Marina is a nice midnight blue with a hint of teal, can't really tell in the photo but if you stare at your nails after you apply it, you'll know what I mean.

My Secret To Long-Lasting Eyeliner

I always hate to see my eyeliner smear in the middle of the day. Raccoon eyes anyone? I usually get them on my outer corners of my bottom lashline or towards my inner tear duct. It's just so weird and majorily unattractive. I've seen a lot of gurus using eyeshadows to set their eyeliner but for some reason it wasn't good enough for me. It'll usually last around half the day and then the liner will start to travel around my eyes.

So, with this said I put in an extra step to insure that my eyeliner wouldn't budge throughout the entire day. The secret? I use pencil liner, liquid liner, and also eye shadow. You might think that's a whole lot of liner/products but it totally works (at least definitely for me).

The 3 products that I used for long-lasting eyeliner -

Almay pencil liner

Maybelline liquid liner

NYX eyeshadow in Black

Starting off with clean eyes

I tight-line and line my eyes, this also acts as a base. Doesn't need to be too neat.

The reason why I said it didn't need to be neat is because you'll be running a liquid liner over that. Makes the process so much easier this way.

Using an angled brush, dip it in the eyeshadow and set your eyes. This literally conceals everything and won't make the liners budge one bit.

Curl lashes...

Mascara time! My favorite of the moment is Maybelline Lash Blast, keep my lashes up and also lengthens it.

Voila!

It definitely has a couple more steps than your regular eye-liner routine but if I'm going out for the entire day, I would definitely put in that extra effort to secure my eye-liner. I have oily skin, so I secrete a lot more oil than usual and my eyelid gets oily also. Which means, the more oils I secrete the higher the chance my eye makeup will smear. But after doing routine, my eye-liner stays put.

If you have the same problem as me with lining your eyes, give this a shot.

As you guys can see the lack of updates on my blog, I know there's no excuse but I want to tell you guys that I was super duper busy (isn't that what everyone says when they're MIA?). My birthday was in mid-July and my boyfriend's birthday was in the beginning of August, and just to top that off - my close childhood friend had her wedding on the first week of August. Hectic? Yes!

I'm so happy everything is over because there were months and months of planning with frustration and annoyance but it was all worth it when it came down to the final special day. You might ask, why would I be involved? Well, I was lucky enough to have my friend ask me to be one of her bridesmaid. Now you know why I was so absent here.

To start off the updates, rolling back about 3 weeks. My boyfriend had celebrated my birthday with me, I'm sure I blogged about that. It was really sweet of him.

Crab, Lobster, Shrimp Roll w/ Empress Claws

I love lobster rolls from Luke's Lobster. If you ever visit NYC, this place is a must. My pre-birthday dinner box.

After my birthday, I had to plan his since it's about 2 weeks apart. His gift was the Apple iPad which I got for him a while back. The guy loves his gadgets! I took him to the spa to get a massage since I know his back and shoulders have been really tense. We went to Mama Spa which was extremely clean and friendly. Afterward, I took him to Degustation. A couple of days after his birthday was the wedding but backtrack just a bit. In between my birthday and his, the maid of honor threw a bachelorette party for the bride at Lucky Cheng's. A drag queen universe. It was so much fun and it was crazy how feminine all the guys look. There was a balloon making guy, he makes really fun adult-like balloons... lol!

My birthday was just this past Sunday and I honestly have to say I had a great time. I did have work until 6pm but a nice dinner and a classy speakeasy cocktail lounge totally hit the spot. I only spent it this year with my boyfriend which is always a treat. We ate at Prune and worked our way to Please Don't Tell for a spankin' awesome cocktail time.

I'm starting to appreciate my birthday a lot more since now I get freebies! I need to find other places such as companies or restaurants that gives out free stuff on your birthday. I mean, it actually makes your birthday that much better and who doesn't like free stuff?!

I signed up for this perk about 2 years ago and since then I get free ice cream. I'm so glad my birthday is in the summer cause it's literally perfect to cure a hot day.

I finally got what everyone was getting on their birthday! It's so small though. When I see it on other blogs the bottle looks so huge, did they change it or something? But I rather have this than what I had last year, which was just an eyeshadow, small eyeliner and mascara. I'm not a big fan of vanilla, but maybe I might just use this because it was a gift from Sephora... I know I'm lame.

A great start to my week.
The weather isn't making it any better though. It's going to hit 100ºF tomorrow and I think I'm going to melt like right now. In the lieu of the heat, I decided to dye my hair. My childhood friend's wedding is 3 weeks away and since she asked me to be her bridesmaid I wanted to make sure I look dashing.

My hair color was a cross between a dark brown and red, I couldn't really tell since I dyed my hair a couple of times at home but it failed all the time. So, I finally decided to just go to a salon and get it professionally done.

Voila! I love how it looks in the sun. So vibrant and bright. The color is Auburn Red. What do you guys think?

Mary Kay small haul

My coworker's daughter became a recent representative for Mary Kay. And to show some support I decided to get some things from her.

The Mineral Foundation Brush which is absolutely extremely soft. It's about $10USD but if the brush is soft, it's totally worth it.

I also got the TimeWise Matte-Wear Liquid Foundation, it's a matte wear which I thought would suit me since I have oily skin. The only 2 problems I have with this, the shade is way too light for me and it smells like paint. Whenever you open the tube, you can smell a big whiff of the unpleasantness from it but if you apply it on your skin the scent is gone. Weird.

I'm not too thrill about their products since the foundation smells, but I do want to give it a try and see how it works on my skin. But before that can happen, I need to exchange it for a different shade.

This deep navy blue came out with the Glee collection, I wasn't all that crazy about the collection but the fact that I saw them in mini bottles totally sold me.

Accent finger I added a layer of OPI Celibacy, also from the Glee collection. I love how tiny the bottles are, because I don't think I can go through a full size bottle ever. The only thing that would keep me from getting these mini-size OPI would be the applicator brush. They are so tiny and can't seem to pick up much product.

I like to be able to coat my nail with one single brush full of product instead of second dipping. Such a turnoff... but I do love this rich color!

Claims: To be weightless texture, lights from within. It is a buildable coverage foundation with flawless effect. It also says to hydrate the skin for 18 hours.

Price: $37

Pros: Extremely lightweight. Matches my skin perfectly. They have a wide range of colors for different skin tone. Has SPF 15 within the foundation formula.

Cons: Light coverage, need to build on it to get high coverage. Makes my skin really oily since it's a really hydrating formula.

There's a bit of gloss finish to the foundation which gives you a bit of dewy glow before you set your face with your powder.

Can you tell which is the with or without foundation photo if I haven't told you?

Overall: I really want to like this foundation but it gets oily on me way too fast. I usually would wear this out for just 4-5 hours and within the 3rd hour, I get oily. It drives me insane because I need to blot my face and put powder on again. What I do like about this is how light weight the foundation is. I personally don't need a lot of coverage so this foundation covers me up in that department.

In the above 2 photos of a before and after me without and with foundation, you can tell that I probably look better without the foundation. The foundation does act as a small concealer also. If you notice my scar on the top of my forehead, it's more visible in the top photo than the one on the bottom. It doesn't cover much but with this foundation, I can just use a little of my concealer and it would do the job. Light weight = light coverage also.

Claims: To clear breakouts and reduce redness while also soothing your skin.

Price: Around $6-9

Pros: Nice clean green tea scent. Little tiny microbeads to help exfoliate. Gently enough for every day use if needed. Comes in a squeeze bottle where you can control how much you want when cleansing.

Cons: Hard to wash off the microbeads because they are really tiny. Has a little stinging sensation when you use it on your face.

Overall: That is usually how much I use for my entire face because a little goes a long way for this product.

When you start scrubbing it the product is green but after a minute of massaging it on your face the product turn white. In a way, it's a sign that shows me that the green tea is either absorbed into my face or oxidized.

In this photo, you can see the tiny beads that is used as an exfoliator. See how micro it is, but because of this it is less harsher on the skin. I use this product every other day because I don't feel the need to exfoliate every day. I like how the scrub leaves the skin squeaky clean afterward. This is definitely an affordable scrub that can be use as a light exfoliator. As for if it prevents breakouts and reduce redness, the reducing redness never worked for me. I still see redness around my nose but it does prevent breakouts for me. I don't breakout in random spots at much as I did, and it's also great for oily-combo skin.

I was tagged by Nani to do this tag. I'm excited when I see I was tagged in something, I like answering questions because it feels like I'm actually communicating and connecting to you guys. Whether it's interesting or not is a different story. But, nonetheless it's entertaining and fun.

After getting all my lipsticks together, I find that Nani and I have very similar ones. You can take a look at her post here.

That's all I have. I do have a lot of pinks, just because they look better on me. Red makes me look fat for some reason and nudes just seem to wash me out. I'll be sure to post an extended entry about all the colors in a later date with swatches and all.

On to the tag and questionnaire.

1. When you were a child, did you use your mother's lipstick?
Yea, like once or twice but they were red lipsticks. I looked so bad with them but they were so fun to play with when I was younger.

2. How old were you when you bought your first lipstick?
This is totally testing my memory and I'm really bad at remembering anything this specific. I'm guessing 17 or 18, the years when I really started to get into this makeup craze.

3. Pink or red lipsticks?
Definitely pink, red looks too harsh on me and did I mention it makes me look fat?

4. The most expensive lipstick you have ever bought?
MAC lipsticks. I never splurge on a lipstick because I know I won't wear it often and there's no point in buying a 20something dollar lipstick if I can get a similar one for less than $10. Yup, I'm a cheapo sometimes.

5. And the cheapest?
Does free count? My aunt get these Estee Lauder and Lancome ones for free with her purchases and she just gives them to me. But if you want to know cheap cheap ones, it would be the NYX's lipstick that were like $2something on CherryCulture.

6. What's the most bizarre thing you have ever done with a lipstick?
When I'm desperate I use it as a blush and there was once where I tried to taste it. Hahahaa omg I can't believe I said that. Actually I just licked it, not literally take a chunk and ate it.

7. If you had to recommend a lipstick, which brand would you recommend and why?
I would recommend the NYX brand just because I love how pigmented and cheap they are. They do have a lot of colors and are also quite moisturizing.

There you have it. I thought it lipstick tag required me to post crazy photos of lipsticks but thank god. I'm not a huge lipstick person, I rarely wear it but I like to collect and have it. I like pretty colors and what kind of girl doesn't. Wearing it would be on a totally different level. Maybe I just don't like to reapply it every 3-5 hours when it wears off.

Claims: To cleanse impurities and takes off make-up. It has moisturizing ingredients like honey and ginseng to keep the skin soft and moist. It also removes dead skin cells that are delicate and hard to rid.

Price: About $9-10

Pros: The formula is really soft with microbeads. Scent is quite pleasant, smells like almonds and honey. Has a pump nozzle which dispense a right amount for the entire face.

Cons: Small bottle and hard to find.

Overall: I really enjoy this cleansing milk because it work great for sensitive skin. With two pumps I can get rid of the oils and make-up on my face. If you don't like foaming face wash this would be a nice product to look into. The scent is sweet with a faint honeyness to it. There are also grains of beads which I assume are the honey extract, they dissolve once you massage your face with the cleanser which is nice because the honey extract is suppose to brighten your skin.
I've been using this product for 2 weeks and it had kept my face from breaking out. I like how soft and silky the cleanser feels and it leaves your skin feeling smooth afterward.

NOTW - The One That Got Away

I usually change my nail color weekly unless I get lazy or want to give them a break.

I also love using new polishes that I just got, just because I want to break open the bottle and un-virginize it... lol

This color came out with the Katy Perry collection, the one where everyone was raving about because of the Black Shatter.

I fairly like this color. It looks really bright on my fair hands. The One That Got Away is a bold deep fuchsia shade with flecks of shimmer in them.

Oh, if you're wondering what's going on with my ring finger nail. Well, I tried using Black Shatter in hopes that it would turn out nice. But, it got messed up and being the lazy person that I am I end up putting a coat of Teenage Dream over it. Actually looks quite pleasing after so many different layers of polish.

Eye Makeup-Less

For the past entire week, I had nothing on my eyes. It was surprising to know that I lasted a week without any eyeshadow, eyeliner, and mascara. It was weird but it actually felt really relaxing and free. It's nice to know that I don't have to come home and use my eye makeup remover before I wash my face.

Here's what I've been using for the past week -

A lot of face products.
Even though I don't use eye makeup, I still want to hide dark circles and redness around my face. So, the steps I've been taking each morning has been --
1) Right after I cleanse my face in the morning, I apply the Avon Anew Rejunvenate Concentrate
2) Then I go in with the Avon Retroactive Youth Extending Day Cream all over the face
3) After the cream is absorbed, I apply the Shisheido sunscreen all over the face
4) Then, I use the Bobbi Brown concealer to conceal my dark circles and redness on any areas on my face
5) After that, I use the Lancome face powder to set the concealer in
6) For the brows, I use ELF to shape and fill in my brows
7) For some color on the face, I like to use my Jane blush
8) Last but not least, apply a lip balm!

It's so simple but yet I feel like it takes forever for me to apply all these products. I think I'm going to go back to applying eyeliner and mascara tomorrow. But it sure does feel nice to let your eyes take a break after a while. I feel like my lashes even got longer and thicker.

Splitter for Two

I recently found these earphone splitters on Fred Flare website and thought they were just super cute. I usually shared music with the bf and it's annoying to be able to only listen to it in one ear.

Like, when we go on a trip and we're sitting on the plane or the bus for a really long time I like the feeling of both my ears being filled with music and not just one - might be weird but it's true! Do you feel that way?

And sometimes, lets say that I have the side with the normal earphones while he get the one with the low volume one and he turns on the volume even higher, that means my ears are going to be blown off! So, the best solution - getting the splitter. I've been looking long and hard for this and voila, I landed on such a cute one.

I find it funny when a small product like this gets mushed into a big box. And I have to go through layers of popcorn foams to be able to get my hands on it.

I think it's so adorable.

And I don't have to worry about losing the body since it's attached to the head with a string. A lot of my friends says it looks like Wall-E, do you think so? I never even saw that movie.

Makeup for Frames

I recently got a new pair of frames since the old pair was over 5 years old. So, I thought why not go get a new pair and have my eyes checked also.

I am so picky when it comes to getting frames, sometimes I even end up settling rather than actually find something I like. But this time around I didn't have the same mind set. I opt to a plastic frame, more emo-look or maybe even a nerdy look. I really like the colors since it's just so unique! Now off to my look for frames.

I decided to use Urban Decay Naked Palette for this since they have so man neutral colors. I actually love them all and it's just so versatile to use!

The pair of glasses compared to my frameless/rimless one that I had for sooo long. It actually matches the blouse that I wore that day - haha. I barely wear glasses, that's why the doc told me that he's going to prescribe my lens a quarter less than it was.

I was like --
Really? My eyes got better?!
He just looked at me and smiled.
Well, it's always good news to know that I'm not going blind. This is why I don't wear glasses when I don't need it. The more you wear, the more you depend on it and when you don't have it on, you squint because you can't see clearly. Squinting makes your eye-sight a lot worse.
If I do the math, it took me 5+ years to decrease my eye-sight for about a quarter... wow.

Interesting facts right?
Oh, NYC weather is great these two days. We're in the 60s! But, we're dropping back down to the 40s when Saturday hits... boo that!

The Effects of Shatter

Finally, I recently got the OPI Black Shatter that everyone was raving about. Because of the rave, I really wanted to get my hands on this nail polish. I'm sure there are other similar polished out there that gives the same effect but I actually knew about it after OPI.

Btw gals, the Silver Shatter is suppose to be coming out in the next month or two. I'm looking forward to that one more since I can put a dark base underneath rather than a light base with this one.

The consistency of Black Shatter is a lot thicker than the usual nail polish, unless it's just me.
The brush was also a lot more flatter.

So with that said, I just applied the shatter on and literally each nail looks uberly different. I know this nail polish gives random cracks on the nails but mine was totally weird!

On nails:
Base Coat
OPI Teenage Dream
OPI Black Shatter
Top Coat

I have three different effects that the shatter had made on my nails, and I finally know why... please don't mind my dry nails, I just want to show you all the different effects.

In the picture above, the cracks that the Black Shatter made are a lot closer to each other. The gaps aren't that big and the black polish are more elongated than chunky.
With this effect, you need to apply a really think layer of Black Shatter. Do not pick up your brush and reapply another coat in the area you already brushed because the extra coat will make the crack thick.

If you had done what I said about reapplying another coat on top then the effect would look like this. The cracks are bigger, this is probably the perfect shatter effect that the polish gives.

Lastly, this really chunky looking effect is when I picked up a lot of nail polish and just placed it on my nail and brushed it in the same area a couple of times. I find this so unattractive. The cracks and gaps are huge and the black polish looks way too chunky. But it does show the glitters from Teenage Dream.

I hope this was clear and helps you guys, but trial and error is best.

Big Bang Clothing Line @ Uniqlo

Hey beauties

Just want to share with you all real quick with what I bought today. I've been waiting for this day for so long just because it has to do with Big Bang!

If you don't already know, Big Bang is a Korean band that is really popular now in Korea and Japan. Their sense of style and music is really modern and catchy. Since they do a lot of concerts in Japan, Uniqlo - a Japanese brand clothing store decides to collaborate with them and do a line of t-shirts and hoodies with them.

Different Uniqlo stores are hosting this clothing launch. I had to call the one in Soho, NYC a couple of times to get the dates right. I don't know if they still have it in stores but you can give it a try if you live around then neighborhood.

I was #8 on line

They only sectioned a small part of the store for the Big Bang clothing launch... I was a bit disappointed. I mean they got fans here in the U.S. also and I think they deserve a lot better than just a small section in the store.

They had so many t-shirts but only these 3 appealed to me. Hot right?
I mean it's a nice way to show them some love.

I can't wait to wear the hoodies!
Since the clothes were in men sizes, I had to buy a size smaller and hopefully they fit because they don't go lower than an XS there.

It's been a great rollercoaster highway

Currently I just feel so dandy!

I just came back from dining with my bf at Sushi Yasuda. It was surely a memorable meal. If you're interesting in sushi, and I mean good and fresh sushi, check out Sushi Yasuda. The restaurant is located in NYC near Grand Central.

Oh, I think I'm in love with fatty tuna cheek sushi. They just melt in your mouth and it's probably the best piece on the tuna. This dining experience was truly amazing.

The bf and I usually try to eat somewhere new and different on our anniversaries. And, this year marks the 4th year that we are together. Not a big number but it does feel that we've been together for a long time. There are a lot of ups and downs in relationships and we know how to pick ourselves back up after we get into an argument. I admire our relationship because no matter how bad the situation is or how bad we swear at each other, at the end of the day we kiss and make up like nothing happened. With this said, I'm glad I got someone like him that understands me, that spoils me, that loves me...oh and that gives me great gifts too!

This year was a bit different. We usually don't get each other anything but this year, for some odd reason...he got me many little gifts!

I love to be showered with gifts and this was totally unexpected!

I've been looking everywhere for this Black Shatter and somehow the bf was able to easily find it. That's just sad, but I love him for getting it for me. It just shows how thoughtful he is to what I say to him. He also got me three other polishes, two from the Katy Perry line and the one on all the way on the left is my favorite! I love that dark red burgundy color.

So cute!
My hands are always freezing in the winter. No matter if I have gloves or put my hands in my pockets, they get cold! Which is really annoying but I can't do anything about it. So, the bf being as thoughtful as he is, got me a hand warmer. I just thought it was cute 'cause it's shaped as a heart and says 'you warm my heart'.

He also got Push Pop. Lord, I don't remember the last time I had these candy. They were so 10 years ago when I was a wee little girl. But I do remember why I didn't like it much. I would eat halfway and push the candy back down to save it for later and when I was ready for some more later, it was so hard to push back up! The sugar of the candy dried up and stuck to the side of the container...which was quite annoying!

Lastly, the Naked palette. How I lust for this.
Sold out all over like usual. None at Sephora or Ulta or wherever and BOOM the bf found it again. Ya know, I'm starting to think I totally suck at finding stuff. I should just let the bf know what I want when I can't get it. He seems to be having a lot more luck with it.

But yes, the Naked palette. Colors are absolutely gorgeous, not to mention I get a brush instead of the 24/7 liners. Personally, I prefer the brush over the liner because I know it's a kohl liner and those stuff runs out quick since it's so creamy and when I glide it on my eyes a big chunk of it ends up on me. I'll probably appreciate the brush more. It's not bad, maybe a bit stiff but quite soft.

All-in-all, the night was absolutely perfect.
Fine dining.
Good company.
Great gifts.
And...
a one of a kind boyfriend <3

El'view: Clean and Clear - Blackhead Clearing Scrub

Claims: Treats acne and clears blackheads. It gently exfoliates and removes dirt and impurities. It contains salicylic acid acne medication and is recommended for daily use.

Price: anywhere between $5-10

Pros: Clears blackheads away. Small grains helps remove the top layer of dirt. Has a nice creamy texture to it.

Cons: Smells a bit like medication. Dries up the skin a bit. Breaks me out through consecutive uses.

Overall: Bare in mind that I have combination-oily skin and my t-zone is the most oiliest spots. During the change of seasons, my cheeks and the areas around my mouth are extremely dry. So, with that said I'm not really lovin' this product. I mean, it's more of a love and hate relationship with this. Although it's recommended for daily use, I break out using this product on consecutive days. Therefore, my solution is not to use it so often. I would have to use it once or twice a week max. But, I do like how it clears away my blackheads. I see a difference after each time I use it. I like using the scrub on my nose a lot since that's where majority of my blackheads are. Since I don't love this product so much, I do tend to neglect it. So, now I use it whenever I have a special event or I see that my blackheads are crazy visible. This product does leave my face a bit dry after I use it since it strips away oil and dirt. Most likely I won't re-purchase it.

Early Valentine's Day Look

Valentine's Day is inching closer. Actually, it's pretty much tomorrow.
Hope everyone will enjoy the love in the air.

I did a quick look in honor of this holiday, even though it's just a Hallmark holiday. But nonetheless it's a reason to dress up and look pretty, either for your significant other or with a group of friends.

I did a really simple look with pinks, purples, and reds. This is more of a dramatic look but it does scream attention to the eyes.

Truthfully, I used a lot of random products for this look. You can use any similar colors to achieve the same thing. You can always experiment around and find the perfect colors that suit your eye and entire face.

I went really simple with the lips. A nice light matte pink color since my eyes are going crazy all over. I used the Victoria's Secret matte lipstick in Breathe. I think they discontinued this line because I don't see it on their website anymore.

Might I add this color nail polish is really pretty and it's worth their price.

I already own two of their nail polishes but recently they have been adding more colors to their collection and I feel in love with this one.

The color is in Metal Madness. It looks a lot lighter on the website but I'm not complaining because the color is really unique. It's a metallic gunmetal color with flecks of shimmer in them. I'll be sticking to this nail polish for the Valentine's week. Who said it's all about bright red and pink colors?

Happy Lunar New Year + Big Thank You

Happy Lunar New Year everyone!
Another year had passed and this year it's the year of the rabbit or the Vietnamese would say it, the year of the mèo.

I wish everyone happiness, luck, health, and also get what you hope for =D

Now, onto some nail polish. I was going around looking for Black Shatter by OPI...no luck. So, I stopped by Sephora to get myself some concealer and the bf pointed out the GLEE limited edition nail polish. It looked so adorable, I just had to get it!

They are extremely tiny, mini versions of the actual OPI size. They're like little samples for you. I think one bottle might last through 5ish time of usage? Assuming that I use two coats each time. But I just love how miniature it is!

I chose to wear Express Yourself to Yourself just because it's the reddest one, in mood of the Lunar New Year of course.
The funny thing about this color is, indoors under fluorescent lights my nails look bright fresh blood red with a hint of pink undertone. Outdoors under the sunlight, my nail looks orange red with no pink undertone whatsoever. Weird but cool.

So, I came home today and saw a package on my table. It was from Steph from Julu Jewelry, I recently won a giveaway from her. Thank you so much Steph! You're so kind!!!

What was in the package. Omg...pink card! Love pink anything. Green tea tube, nail stickers Godiva chocolate, bitter almond kit kat...now that's something new.

I love it. I really like how there's the black crystals. Been really into this black and white kind of theme lately with jewelry, gives it a sort of daring feeling.

Forever21 Brushes

I recently found out that Forever21 was carrying brushes. I also heard they were really soft and inexpensive, so I had to check it out and grab me some to try.

The following were the only brushes that I can find at the F21 stores by me. If you own or have seen other kinds, please let me know!

Everything I bought was pink and white, which made it look ultra cute.

I think it's a body powder buffer because that is way too big for the face. I saw the packaging and I just had to get it, using it will be another story but it was just too cute to pass. And it's extremely soft.

Another brush I got was a face powder brush. This is my favorite.
Really soft and wide. Haven't tried it yet, hopefully it won't be a disappointment.

Those are the rest of the brushes. A blush brush which was too narrow, so I probably will be using that to brush off the fall-outs on my cheek. There's a lip brush, sponge brush, eyeshadow brush, brow and lash comb. The additional brush on the right is a define-angle brush.

Fairly happy with the purchase since the most expensive item was only $4.80 and that was the brush set. I think the main reason I got these brushes was because they had a hint of pink in nearly all of them. I love the color pink!

Favorite Beauty Products of 2010

Just want to get this out there so it can be a reference for you all and myself.

Bioline Jato Skincare Line
One of the most difficult brands out there to find and buy. I got this from my local facial shop. My skin got pretty bad so my facial lady recommended this and it works wonders! I especially love the scrub (green bottle with flecks of green scrubbies in it), it really cleans everything on your face. Makes your skin silky smooth and a lot brighter afterward also.

Shiseido - Ultimate Sun Protection Cream for Face SPF55
My absolute favorite face product of the year. I wear this everyday or whenever I leave the house. It doesn't break me out or dry out my skin. It's very moisturizing and leaves my skin feeling really supple and soft. The product also has a bit of whitening effect to it, so it will lighten your face and make you seem a lot more awake. An extra bonus is that is control my oils really well. I get really oily in my t-zone areas and this lowers it down a notch.

Lancome - Dual Finish Face Powder
I really like this powder. Just because it matisfy the face and it also smells really pleasant. The size makes it a lot easier to take along with you whenever you go out and need to do a quick touch up.

Rock&Republic - Contrived Pressed BlushAll-time favorite blush. They come in so many colors and each color is as pigmented as the next. I guess the thing that sold me was how much product I was getting and the packaging is really that awesome. I liked how easily discounts were floating all around the internet and getting your hands on a cheap one wasn't that hard. Aside from it's retail price of $40 a blush, if you get lucky you can get them for less than half the price which is why it's a great steal!
I change my blushes like each month/season and currently I love X-Rated!

Too Faced - Shadow Insurance

The only eye primer I ever used and it works. Keeps my eye-lid crease free for 6+ hours, plus my eye shadow doesn't run all over the place.

Maybelline - Lash Stiletto
I love Maybelline's mascara. I currently use the Covergirl Lash Blast and I'm not fond of it much. Maybelline never disappointed me before and I'm so looking forward to getting another mascara when I'm done with the Covergirl. Lash Stiletto lengthens my eyelashes really well, and the waterproof version keeps my lashes curled. I liked how the formula wasn't too thick and yet it still coated each of my lashes, Covergirl on the other hand was the opposite!

Sephora Collection - Retractable Waterproof Eyeliner
Best waterproof eyeliner. I use this on my waterline and underneath my lashline, and it won't budge at all. I've tried other drugstore brand and it would smudge throughout the day and make me look like I got punched in the face or cried like it was the end of the world. I'm so glad I found this because it's retractable and waterproof. I'm a very lazy person so sharpening it would be too time consuming for me. Haha.
The one I use is in brown, because the color is so natural and isn't as harsh as the black. Not to mention the brown has bits of bronze shimmer in it!

Rock&Republic - Lip Gloss
I sure love me some R&R products. I rarely use lip gloss just because I feel as if they're too sticky. The annoying part is when your hair catches on your lips and it's just a nasty idea. Plus, they usually have a very unpleasant scent to it. But not these lip glosses! The texture is pretty smooth and when you purse your lips, they don't stick together like glue. They also give a really healthy "shine" to your lips. If you like using lip glosses, give R&R a try.

So, there you go. That wraps up my faves of 2010. I'm hoping I'll be able to find more to add onto this list but as for now, it'll suffice. I need to look more into the skincare line because the products I'm using now are so hard to obtain, unless I get it from my facial shop but it's just too pricey. Any recommendation guys?

Inspired Look - Ga-In (Brown Eyed Girls)

I've been really hooked to Korean music lately. I don't know what it is about them but they have great beat, rhythm, dance moves, and basically everything. Even though I don't know what the song is about, and I don't understand a single word... I still love the language and song.

I'm also intrigued by how flawless their skin looks, regardless if it's male or female. Especially in the music videos, I always end up staring at their faces and eyes instead of the whole picture. My favorite at the moment is Ga-In from Brown Eyed Girls. She has this really sexy yet creepy look to her eyes, with or without makeup. It's just within her, au naturale.

I tried to remake it using really simple stroke of the brush and eyeshadow. I guess what drew me into liking it was how simple it was and yet it pulled everything together. Ga-In's elongated and winged eyeliner is a true beauty. I love how elegant it looks on her with a twist of punk/rock to it.

And here is the lovely... Ga-In

She is absolutely gorgeous. And to think she's only one year older than me!

Nothing to complicated here, I literally used a black eyeshadow and slowly drew out the winged liner. Ga-In's look is extremely simple, that's why I love it! Pair it off with some natural lip color and voila!

I like the easy but yet sophisticated kind of look, very little effort but still look polished and pretty. If you're in a hurry, you might want to try this look out =]

El'view: e.l.f. Studio Translucent Matifying Powder

Claims: Gives flawless skin that is smooth and is shine free. Sets and helps makeup last longer. The matifying effect makes the skin matte and diminishes the oil, revealing a more healthy looking skin.

Price: $3

Pros: It's a light powder that really matifies the skin. Doesn't clog pores and rids the oil that are on your face. Comes in a small compact with a sponge and mirror. It is a translucent powder so it would work on nearly all skin tones.

Cons: The sponge expands overtime and wouldn't fit in the given compartment which leads to difficulties in closing the compact. There is only one sponge, so you would have to purchase more individually or use a brush.

Overall: I really like this product, I even bought backups. I mean, you can't really go wrong with something this inexpensive and it works this well. I love using this after I blot my face with the blotting sheets since my t-zones are so oily after a long day. I can never find a powder that suits my skin tone and my skin type. I'm always afraid that it might discolor my face for choosing the wrong shades or the powder might dry my skin up. But this actually works for me, it's not heavy at all. I would say that this gives barely any coverage, it's geared more towards taking the shine away from your face. If you're really oily, then I would recommend this product. After blotting, just apply this on and you'll see how smooth your skin will be. This is one of my MP "most prized" products and "can't live withouts".

Blushin' Shoes

Load and behold, Rock and Republic blushes.

I previously owned 2 (Call Me and Kinky) which I bought from HauteLook because they were really cheap. I got them half off and it's rare that Rock&Republic blushes goes on sale. So this time around, at the Rock&Republic website, they had discounts after discounts. There was a 20% code floating around and since I'm a first time purchaser I get an additional $25 credit deduct from my total, how sweet is that?! Oh, and shipping was just 99 cents.

So, I had to snag whatever they have in stock on the website. I wasn't going to give this chance up at all.
I really like R&R blushes because they're really pigmented, and for the price it's totally worth it. I got 4 more blushes for just $60, unbelievable... I know!

I first heard of these from Jen, she's so sweet and has a great in depth blog about nearly everything. The design of the blushes to the actual product is truly worth their retail of $40 each. But paying for less always makes us happy =]

I was waiting about a week for these blushes to come and when it did, I got so excited about them. I had to open them immediately and look at the pretty colors. When I was swatching, I do notice that the blushes with bits of shimmer in them seem to be a lot more softer. On the other hand, the matte colors are a bit harder to pick up when applying it with a brush... or maybe it's just me.

As of late, I've been looking out for some neat shoes. Every girl needs some sexy and comfortable boots, and don't forget about pumps!

Over-the-knee boots from Chinese Laundry. I got these from Bakers. Originally wanted to try the Tate but the salesperson bought out Chinese Laundry also. They pretty much look exactly the same but the only difference is at the heel.
The Tate is a wedged heel which is a lot more stiffer and harder, so when you walk you make the "clicking" sound.
Chinese Laundry has a regular small rubber heel, which makes your walking a lot smoother and doesn't hurt or put pressure on the heel as much.

This was probably my most loved pair that I got. It's so sexy. The shoe says it all.
I can't wait to wear it!

Oh... The beauty of it all

It took me a long while to post this entry up just because I've been working every single day for the past 2 weeks. I know that's pretty insane but I have two jobs and it really helps me out with repaying my loans. Anywhose, this post is a bit random with little bits of here and there that just happened since the last time I wrote.

Exciting news! At least for me it was. I won XJOLE's giveaway! It was shocking because it just came out of the blue, what a great incentive for working 14 days in a row! I literally rarely win anything, even lottery and scratch offs don't like me.

The oh-so-generous Joanna sent me a package with goodies which I wouldn't have expected!

NOTD - Summer Peach

I feel like I'm getting all this weather and color polishes all mixed up. Why am I wearing summery colors in the fall? But I have to say, it is a nice non-flashy color.

American Apparel branded polishes have gorgeous colors but the staying power is really poor. I wouldn't purchase them again even if their colors are sooo pretty. The nail polishes starts chipping and coming off in less than a week, and I already place a base and top coat. Disappointing, I know.

I never had crawfish before but it sure taste like a cross between a mini lobster and a sun-dried shrimp. It was pretty good for a southern creole spot. I was actually more interested in the alligator meat. That was a first timer for me also, gosh I feel like a virgin talking about food now. Hope your mouth is drooling now! =D
